On October 6, 2023, the Second Thematic Business Forum was held at the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy to present the scientific developments of the research groups under project BG-RRP-2.004-0002-C01, BiOrgaMCT (Bioactive Organic and Inorganic Advanced Materials and Clean Technologies).
One of the main tasks of the project is the creation of new and the strengthening of already established relations between scientific research and the practical requirements of business. This requires the holding of meetings between the academy and the industry. The purpose of these meetings is to support the market realization of products and technologies created as a result of the research activity at the university under the program to create a network of research universities within the framework of the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan (NextGeneration EU).
In the second business forum, representatives of more than 15 companies from the pharmaceutical industry, the energy industry, the chemical industry, etc. participated. During the meeting, the heads of scientific groups – Prof. Martin Bozhinov, Prof. Petar Todorov and Prof. Yana Chekalarova presented the developments of their groups. Presented were also developments of the Scientific Research Sector of UCTM, which are in the process of being transferred to the industry. After the presentations, a discussion was held between the researchers and the company representatives about possible application of the presented research developments and next steps in the organization of partnership relations.
