Young scientists and post-PhD students from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy underwent training on “Technology transfer and commercialization of technologies”, organized by The Edge: Research & Business Development, with lecturer: Assoc. Dr. Petko Ruskov
The aim of the training was the innovative transformation of the applied, scientific and technological knowledge of young and leading scientists from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy into competitive commercial products and services. During the training, the trainees mastered the theory and practice of transfer and commercialization of scientific research by evaluating real technologies and their commercial potential, including practices to improve and accelerate the commercialization process – from the decisions made by scientists and researchers in scientific laboratories, through development, protection of intellectual property, patenting and/or licensing of new technologies to the formation of concepts and creation of entrepreneurial enterprises (spin-offs).
The training took place in October 2023 – in the period 12.10.2023 – 28.10.2023, in a volume of 30 hours /20 hours of lectures and discussions and 10 hours of team work/.
During the training, 5 teams were formed, which will develop and present their innovative ideas to a jury on 16.11.2023, and the best teams will continue their work in Beyond – a pre-accelerator of The Edge, which has been applying the open and breakthrough model for many years innovation and helps create working prototypes (MVPs) of participants’ ideas, their pitch to investors and subsequent commercialization.
