Business discussion on Advanced organic and inorganic materials and their engineering applications

2024

About the event

On March 27, 2024, a discussion was held in the BCCI building in connection with the application of scientific discoveries and, in particular, the work on organic and inorganic materials, alloys, and their practical applications in the field of production. The event organized by Vicors AD was commissioned and financed by UCTM in connection with the implementation of project: BG-RRP-2.004-0002-C03, “BiOrgaMCT” (Bioactive Organic and Inorganic Advanced Materials and Clean Technologies) under the procedure “Establishment of a network of research universities in Bulgaria”.

The discussion was aimed at companies working in the field of production of refractory products, technical ceramics and other ceramic products, manufacturers of glass products for technical use.

The lecturer at the event was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stanislav Slavov from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy. He gave a lecture on the topic: “Avant-garde structural and functional glass-ceramics and ceramics for mechatronics”.

Dr. Slavov presented the scientific and applied directions of ceramics and glass ceramics, respectively:

  • New designs and materials for ceramic capacitor batteries;
  • New composite materials from natural raw materials and a method for their industrial production;
  • New conductive ceramic materials for heating elements;
  • New composite ceramic materials for anti-corrosion protection of water containers;
  • New ceramic materials (piezoceramic materials) with application in piezo-electric microgeneration systems.

More than 30 participants took part in the discussion, including: Dura-Tiles BG, Artmonbat, Şişecam, Trakya Glass Bulgaria EAD, Wienerberger and other companies. The forum was useful for business representatives because they had the opportunity to get acquainted with materials and alloys based on the most modern discoveries and technologies. Opportunities for cooperation between the scientific community and enterprises were offered, with the support of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
