Chemical Engineering Day at UCTM

Within the framework of Contract No.: BG-RRP-2.004-0002-C01, “BiOrgaMCT” (Bioactive Organic and Inorganic Advanced Materials and Clean Technologies) under procedure: BG-RRP-2.004 – Establishment of a network of research universities in Bulgaria under the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan, on November 29, 2024, the second edition of the Chemical Engineering Day was held at UCTM.

The scientific conference with international participation enjoyed great interest from the business community. During the event, company reports were presented by Almagest – Production of bioethanol from cereals, B2N – Pioneer in the 3D industry in the Balkans, Relina – Production of food and pharma products, Technophos – Innovations in phosphate technologies and the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce e (AHK Bulgaria) – The first and key partner for representatives of German business in Bulgaria.

The event was opened by the Rector of the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, Prof. Senya Terzieva-Zhelyazkova. Official guests of the event were Mr. Takayuki Shinozawa, Deputy Head of Mission/ Counsellor,  Mr. Yasuhiro Kitajima, First Secretary for Economic Affairs and Mr. Kento Muraki, Secretary for Cultural Affairs in Embassy of Japan in Bulgaria, and dr. Lyudmila Peeva from Queen Mary University of London.

The second part of the conference was the poster session “Academy and Industry”, accompanied by a cocktail and discussions, and a parallel corporate exhibition with dedicated company stands and live demonstrations. Participating companies with stands were B2N, Relina, Ellatzite Med, Regiocom Bulgaria, Chimcomplect- Engineering, Aurubis  Bulgaria, Liebherr-Hausgeräte Marica.
