About the cooperation
According to an order of the Rector of UCTM a business trip was carried out at the Brno University of Technology (BUT), Czech Republic with the task “Technology transfer” (implementing project BG-RRP-2.004-0002-C01, BiOrgaMCT – Bioactive organic and inorganic advanced materials and clean technologies, according to procedure: BG-RRP-2.004 – Establishment of a network of research higher schools in Bulgaria under the National Plan for Recovery and Sustainability). The visit was attended by Miglena Ivanova – project coordinator BG-RRP-2.004-0002-C01, Assoc. Prof. PhD Anton Georgiev – leading researcher in Scientific group 3.1.1. of the project and Assoc. Prof. PhD Stanislava Kovacheva – expert from CTT at UCTM.
The following centres connecting the academic staff and BUT students with practice and business were visited: Faculty of Chemistry at Brno University of Technology, Joint Innovation Centre (JIC), Technology Park Brno (TPB) and Technology Transfer Office (ТТО). Three pre-planned and agreed upon by Prof. A. Georgiev working meetings were held with representatives of the centres.
The outcome of these meetings is particularly fruitful because it gives confidence to our team that we are working in the right direction in structuring and developing the Centre for technology transfer at UTCM. Significant points of contact were found where cooperation and opportunities for joint work could be sought. This is also the opinion of the colleagues with whom we met and talked. An invitation was extended for a return visit and participation in the project conference in the spring of 2025, and all BUT partners we met expressed readiness for future joint work in the field of knowledge and technology transfer in specific research areas.
