Cooperations with tehnology transfer centers in Latvia and Lithuania

2024

About the cooperation

In the period June 10-15, 2024, in implementation of the TTC activities at UCTM, Sofia according to the order of the Rector of UCTM and with funds under project BG-RRP-2.004-0002-C01, BiOrgaMCT (Bioactive organic and inorganic cutting-edge materials and clean technologies), under procedure: BG-RRP-2.004 – “Establishment of a network of research higher schools in Bulgaria under the National Plan for Recovery and Sustainability” a business trip was carried out in two European universities.

Between June 10-12, 2024, a planned meeting was held with Vilma Purienė – Director of the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Centre, VILNIUS TECH and Lina Bakšienė – representative of the center, who is responsible for the intellectual property (VILNIUS TECH Group of Intellectual Property Chief Specialist). This meeting marked the beginning of an upcoming bilateral cooperation with teams from VILNIUS TECH. For newly established centres such as TTC at UCTM, cooperation with scientists and managers from countries of the ЕU, who very intensively develop their capabilities in the direction of improving the relationship with business in the last 10 – 15 years, is very useful.

During the same business trip in the period 12-15 June 2024, the Science and Innovation Centre was also visited at RIGA TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY, Latvia. The visit could also be a basis for future cooperation. The centre is the organizer of Open Week 2024, an event organized regularly, during which scientific research tasks in various fields are presented.

The main benefit of these two visits is the long-term experience and the exchange of good practices at the level of knowledge and technology transfer centres. Steps have been taken to conclude Framework Agreements for cooperation in the direction of knowledge and technology transfer with universities. The work will start with a finding common scientific interests and a scientific topic on which to start joint work between scientific groups from UCTM and the universities after concluding Framework Agreements and coordination on the implementation of a technology transfer network between these and future partners.
