Minister Milena Stoicheva participated in the event for the final presentation of the entrepreneurial projects of researchers from UCTM, developed during the training on “Technology transfer and commercialization of technologies”, organized under the project “BiOrgaMCT” (Bioactive Organic and Inorganic Advanced Materials and Clean Technologies) under the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan, in implementation of Contract No: BG-RRP-2.004-0002-C02.

“You are in the right place at the right time and I hope you will seize this moment and develop your scientific projects in the best possible way, so that as a result of them Bulgaria can establish itself as an innovation hub,” said Minister Stoycheva. She congratulated the participants in the forum for having recognized the technological development and the opportunities for the development through science of the society and the economical capacity of the Republic of Bulgaria. In conclusion, she emphasizes that currently innovations are supported and developed as a priority, as the basis for this is scientific research. The profile of the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy provides scientists with a unique chance to actively participate in the global technological transformation through the development of the so-called “deep technologies” (biotechnologies, development of advanced materials, organic and inorganic chemistry), so that Bulgaria can benefit from these technologies in the future development of the innovative potential of our country.

The researchers, young and established scientists from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, underwent a month-long training with the aim of innovatively transforming applied, scientific and technological knowledge into competitive commercial products and services. After evaluation by a competent jury, the best teams will continue their work in Beyond, a pre-accelerator of The Edge, which for many years has applied the model of open and breakthrough innovation and helps to create working prototypes (MVPs) of the participants’ ideas, their pitch to investors and subsequent commercialization.

Participants in the jury that will select the most promising projects were: Prof. Nikolay Dishovski from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy and leading business experts: Dr. Rositsa Karamfilova, Dr. Vasil Todorov, Georgi Kudrev, Dr. Rositsa Valcheva.
