About the event
On December 5, 2023, in “Prof. Asen Zlatarov” hall of the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy – Sofia, was held the Annual Conference of Project BG-RRP-2.004-0002 “BiOrgaMCT” (Bioactive Organic and Inorganic Advanced Materials and Clean Technologies) under the procedure: BG-RRP-2.004 – “Establishment of a network of research universities in Bulgaria” under National recovery and resilience plan. During the conference, a review was made of the progress in the implementation of the project activities, as well as the results achieved in the first year of the project’s implementation.
The leading researchers of the program presented the scientific developments of the groups they lead:
- Organic functional materials
- Advanced Materials and Technologies
- Biologically active molecules – design, synthesis, extraction and study
- Clean Technologies to extend the life cycle of energy systems
- Photo anisotropic materials for polarization holography and photonics applications
- Study of biological activity of biomolecules
Some of the main achievements of the Strategic Research Program in the first year of its implementation are:
- Total number of researchers involved in the implementation of the Strategic Program – 79 people;
- Engaged young scientists/postdoctoral students – 18 people (11 young scientists and 7 postdoctoral students);
- Total number of publications in Web of Science – 17 publications (until November 30, 2023);
- Participation in scientific forums – 30 participations;
- Scientific visits by researchers from UCTM abroad – 2 visits;
- Scientific visits of foreign researchers to UCTM – 3 visits.
In 2024, practical-applied projects (21 in number) will be launched, which will be implemented in 2024 and 2025. Participation of the researchers in the program in various international scientific forums, as well as scientific visits of foreign researchers to UCTM are planned.
