The second training on prototyping through 3D scanning, modelling and printing was completed

The training on Prototyping through 3D scanning, modeling and printing, organized by the Cluster Hoisting Devices Ltd., with the participation of lecturers and PhD students from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy (UCTM) was completed. The training was commissioned and financed by UCTM in connection with the implementation of project BG-RRP-2.004-0002-C03, “BiOrgaMCT” (Bioactive Organic and Inorganic Advanced Materials and Clean Technologies) under procedure: BG-RRP-2.004 – “Establishment of a network of research universities in Bulgaria” under the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan.

The training participants scanned details and made their own prototypes using 3D printers. Skills were acquired to work with:

  • Desktop 3D scanner Artec Micro (used for scanning small objects – in volume up to 9x6x6 cm, with a scanning resolution of up to 0.029 mm);
  • Artec Leo portable 3D scanner (used for scanning medium to large objects, with a resolution of up to 0.1 mm);
  • 3D printers from the brands ULTIMAKER, MARKFORGED, FORMLABS, working with three different 3D printing technologies: FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication), CFR (Continuous Fiber Reinforcement) and LFS (Low Force Stereolithography).

All participants who completed the training course received certificates.
