About the Conference

The University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy in Sofia is pleased to invite you to the second annual scientific conference of the scientific research program BiOrgaMCT. The conference is funded by the European Union-NextGenerationEU, through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Republic of Bulgaria, project BG-RRP-2.004-0002 BiOrgaMCT.

  • Bioactive compounds – synthesis, extraction and biological activity study
  • New generation materials for advanced structural, biomedical and opto-electronic applications
  • Light-responsive and functional materials
  • Electrochemical methods for material studies
  • Molecular separation: science and technologies

Registration and abstract submission deadline: 15 October 2025

Notification of abstract acceptance: 15 December 2025

The presented studies will be published in a high ranking journals.

There is no conference fee and the accommodation costs of the approved participants in the conference are at the expense of the organizers (BiOrgaMCT project).

Hotel check-in and an evening welcome cocktail reception will take place on the 26th April.

Cultural events (excursions) are also planned for the period 29-30th April in Bulgaria imminent cultural sites, which will be announced additionally on the conference website.

Additional travel grants (scholarships) are also provided for up to 5 young scientists and doctoral students to cover their transportation costs.

The conference will take place  at the Vitosha Park Hotel, 1 Rosario Street, Sofia.

How to Reach Vitosha Park Hotel from Sofia Airport?

Option 1: Recommended Taxi Company

For your comfort and safety, we recommend the services of the taxi operator Yellow! as the contractual partner of SOF Connect, the concessioner of Sofia Airport.

Look for the Yellow! cars at the main taxi ranks or request the service at the offices of Yellow! in the Arrivals of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

IMPORTANT!

We recommend that you do not use taxi services offered outside the office of the taxi operator or in front of the terminal to avoid the risk of abuse.

Option 2: Public transportation

The metro station at Sofia Airport is located in the eastern part of Terminal 2. You can reach it by following the floor markings in blue at the public area of Terminal 2. The metro trains on the route to the airport operate from 5:30 a.m. to midnight on weekdays and weekends/holidays.

From Sofia Airport Terminal 2 take Metro Line 4 (yellow line) in the direction of Obelya. Travel 8 stops and get off at “G.M.Dimitrov” Station (approx. 25 minutes).

Exit the station in the direction of St. Kliment Ohridski Blvd. Walk to the nearby bus stop (Nspal PO Onkologiya) for lines 88, 280 or 294 (direction: Studentski Grad). Board Bus 88/280/294 and ride for 1 stop to “Technical University” (approx. 2 minutes).
