First thematic business forum was held on September 29, 2023 in UCTM-Sofia within the framework of the implementation of the Strategic scientific research and innovative development program, financed under project BG-RRP-2.004-0002-C01, BiOrgaMCT (Bioactive organic and inorganic advanced materials and clean technologies). During the forum the scientific developments of the research groups under the BiOrgaMCT program were presented, as well as the developments of teams from the university, which are in the process of being transferred to industry.
One of the main tasks of the project is the creation of new and the strengthening of already established relations between scientific research and the practical requirements of business. This requires the holding of meetings between the academy and the industry. The purpose of these meetings is to support the market realization of products and technologies created as a result of the research activity at the university under the program to create a network of research universities within the framework of the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan (NextGeneration EU).
The first forum was attended by over 30 companies from the fields of the chemical industry, fuels, the military-industrial complex, metallurgy, energy, etc. During the meeting, the heads of scientific groups – Prof. Anton Georgiev, Prof. Plamen Petkov and Prof. Lian Nedelchev presented the developments of their groups. Presented were also developments of the Scientific Research Sector of UCTM, which are in the process of being transferred to the industry. After the presentations, a discussion was held between the researchers and the company representatives about possible application of the presented research developments and next steps in the organization of partnership relations.
