About the event
On October 17, 2024, the Second annual scientific conference of UCTM’s “BiOrgaMCT” project (Bioactive Organic and Inorganic Advanced Materials and Clean Technologies) was held in Sofia. During the conference, in the presence of a large part of the scientists participating in the research, representatives of the industry and representatives of the Executive Agency “Programme Education” of the Republic of Bulgaria Ministry of Education and Science, were presented the achievements of the research groups during the first 18 months of the implementation of the project (for the period January 2023 – September 2024).
The leading researchers of the scientific groups presented in detail the realization of their research work, the contacts made with the industry and the realized international activities that led to new collaborations. During the conference for the first time was presented the Centre for Technological Transfer at UCTM, which already has a website at https://ctt.uctm.edu/. The site is the main channel for popularizing the work of the Centre and the scientific groups of the project by regularly publishing information and news related to their activities. In order to facilitate international cooperation, the site has also been developed with an English version.
Industry representatives who took part in the conference had the opportunity to ask their questions to the leading researchers, make proposals and establish deeper contacts with the scientists involved in the project.
After the end of the conference, a meeting of the Advisory Board of the project took place, in which only industry representatives participated. They presented their views on the progress of the strategic research program of the BiOrgaMCT project. The general impressions on the presented results are positive, and during the discussion opportunities were identified for deepening partnerships with industrial enterprises in Bulgaria and around the world.
